This Thread is Intended for Assignment Information and Pro Member Submissions, Not Commentary, take that to Flickr or to a separate thread. We will be pruning the thread of non-Pro member entries. Please do not take offense.

As always if you do not have a profile picture, or you are new, your assignment is to do a self portrait, then use it as your avatar!

If you do not have an avatar, it's a great time to get one so we know who you are!

General Assignment Rules:
Please post these pictures in our Flickr Pool and tagged with the Flickr tag below. If you are new please read up on our New User help guides. Please limit your count of images to two (2).

As always if you have old images please do not submit more than one (1). The assignments are to get you out shooting, not looking into the past. We understand though that we often have some nice treasure in the past, just limit your selection and go out and shutter anew.

Please keep this thread clean of commentary is possible. It's to be used to highlight the Pro entries.

Sports on Flickr

Sports Sports Sports.. You have kids and their soccer moms, adults and their infighting, college teams and the rivalry, the stadium full or empty, the field on a moody day. See where I'm going? There are a great many ideas that can be taken for sports so get out of your comfort zone and get creative.

You can view this months reporters by clicking, CPMG0610SA.

Make sure you add it to our group pool too just in case Flickr's tag indexing is slow or mal-behaved.

Captions!!
Please give a caption to your photo so we can better understand your intent and theme orchestration.

Image shot w/ Canon 1D series in the AV mode as lighting was optmium for this setting. Lens was a 300 2.8 fixed.

The crowd and the ump and catcher all await the pitch. After the pitch this is where a lot of action can occur....but it's peaceful now behind the plate.

    Power Shot!

1/250th, f7.1, iso 320. Shot with 3 speedlites. Camera right is main, fill is camera left and rim is back left. The explosion is a white water balloon. The ball was shot on location to capture the correct lighting and was superimposed in photoshop. This was shot at 7:30 pm and it was not yet dark outside.

If you look at my flicker sports photos...we found a wwII/school graveyard.I found a bin of old spoting gear that was pretty used up.At the time the news was about not having any more sports for the kids.It made me feel like this is where all the sporting equipment will wind up.Just about every sports ball was in the bin including swimming goggles.

    "Little Slugger"

After hours of training, we almost learned how to bunt.

After grinding the old hamster wheel, I decided to do something a little bit different this month than shooting sports equipment. I had the great idea and asked my son to model his favorite baseball jersey saying "Dad's Team, Baby League Champs".
