English girl living in Charlotte, NC, with a life-long passion for photography and a "can snap, will snap" approach.
My main passion in life is my photography, to the point that I am often teased for never being without one of my cameras - hence the name of my website (and hopefully company, in the near future!) “My Other Limb”. I have spent the last 3 years building up a portfolio of photos, developing my photographic skills, and working on a variety of image production projects. On a professional level, I would still describe myself as a photographer-in-training, with a huge degree of energy for learning and improving my skills. I think that my understanding of photography has developed well, despite being predominantly self-taught. I currently work as an intern and assistant/second shooter with Jim McGuire at his studio in Plaza Midwood.
People, in all sorts of places and situations, and interacting together. Candid shots are often my favourite but I am learning to really enjoy studio portraiture, too.
I now shoot all digital, though I did start with film years ago. I have two main cameras: a Canon 1000D (Rebel, in America) and a Nikon D3.
I hope to meet new people (I only moved here in Oct 2011), and to share my passion for photography with like-minded folk. I would like to learn a great deal from anyone and everyone (more specifically, I think I need to learn more about flash photography, studio lighting, and better use of PhotoShop), and hopefully find some new places and inspiration for shoots.

So far I am really enjoying it! Everyone has been so friendly; the classes are varied and well taught; it's a great way to connect with local photographers in an informal way. I'm already booked in on my next workshop!
