Jim Pierson commented on a Meetup"I found the plastic bag method very unpredictible and can't regulate the droplets. For about $7 at Lowe's I made a rig out of 1" PVC pipe 18" long to hold water; 1" - 3/8" reducer; some plastic tubing; a petcock to regulate flow. Works great."

"I don't think you need fast glass for this. If it is sunny, you will probably be shooting f/8 - f/16 at a very low ISO. Watch your minimum focus distance...."

"The original version is an awesome lens, a mainstay for me. It is a bit heavy and for some types of shooting a monopod is helpful. That is a big bump in price, too. Makes me think the original version could hold its value instead of being discounted."
