SUMMARY:Coffee and Strobes #19
DESCRIPTION:Charlotte Photography Meetup Group\n\nCPMG member George Holt h
 as arranged for us to meet regularly at the Quail Corners location of the D
 ilworth Coffee House. We'll be getting together for some after hours strobi
 st activities. This won't be a class per se\, but will be a great opportuni
 ty to learn about small flash off camera lighting. We will be arriving a bi
 t before the coffee house closes so everyone will be able to order some dri
 nks. After the doors are locked we will have full run of the place to satis
 fy all our strobing and shooting desires. This is a regular event that we d
 o twice a month.  For anyone who has no clue what is meant by the term stro
 bist\, head on over to www.strobist.com and check it out.  What to bring: y
 our camera\, your small lighting gear (studio lights aren't recommended)\, 
 a humble attitude and thirst to learn hands on in a group environment.  Thi
 s event is free to Pro Members and carries a cost of $3.00 for all other me
 mbers. Please pay through amazon payments. We would rather not handle cash 
 at the event and we will not have change. If you are a Pro Member please ig
 nore the link that takes you to amazon payments. You should still be able t
 o rsvp yes without paying. This way we don't have to go and refund you and 
 worry about amazon service charges.  All RSVP's will open at noon (12:00pm)

DESCRIPTION:Charlotte Photography Meetup Group\n\nLooking for some input or
  have questions? Join us with your dvd's\, prints\, USB drives\, and we'll 
 review pictures while enjoying a beverage & snacks.   We've had some fantas
 tic turnouts for these events creating some very dynamic and diverse discus

SUMMARY:CPMG's First Pro Member Event
DESCRIPTION:Charlotte Photography Meetup Group\n\nHere it is folks\, our ve
 ry first Pro Member only event.  The idea of a series of events exclusively
  available to our Pro/Supporting Members has been teased as a benefit of me
 mbership ever since we rolled out the option almost a year ago.  I recogniz
 e that it's taken a long time to come to fruition\, but better late than ne
 ver.  We have been granted special access to the China Grove Fire Departmen
 t.  From what I understand we will have full access to the trucks\, gear\, 
 and personnel so long as we don't get in the way of them doing their jobs. 
  This means fire fighters\, their gear\, and five fire trucks including a f
 ully restored 1929 antique engine.  This should be a fantastic opportunity 
 to shoot\, strobe\, and get up close to some really great subject matter.  
 We have been allowed to bring 15 people to the station for this event.  Wha
 t to bring:  Everything!  Bring your cameras\, tripods\, small and large li
 ghting gear\, reflectors.  We aren't limiting this event to any particular 
 type of shooting.  B/C of the limitations that meetup's system creates this
  event will have a unique rsvp process.  On Saturday\, March 6th\, the rsvp
 's will open at 6:00pm.  Pro members interested in attending will sign up t
 o a waiting list and the first 15 will be moved onto the attending list.  T
 he waiting list will still be used in the event that someone backs out of t

 OPPORTUNITY on the greenway at Bevo and Beebe's 3 acres of woods:  The Bark
 sdales 3136 Piney Grove Rd Charlotte\, NC 28212  We're at the end of Piney 
 Grove Rd\; one mile from Idlewild/Piney Grove intersection. I'll tie a RED 
 ribbon on a post at the bottom of our driveway. The passive solar house is 
 up the driveway in the trees.  Please bring a covered dish to share. Salad\
 , casserole or dessert. I'll have drinks and cutlery.  We have an opportuni
 ty to photo along the greenway which goes for miles as you probably know. B
 ring a bike so you can save time getting to the lake and further for photo 
 opportunities. There are usually many people with dogs\, families taking th
 e air and playing. On the creek there is an old tumbled down mill\; one wal
 l open but it is fenced. There is a broken dam\, shallow creek with rocks\,
  bridges\, wooden and rusty metal. Maybe the giant tadpoles(bullfrogs) will
  be hatched. We have invited the fox\, barred owls\, deer\, racoons but don
 't have rsvps yet. The squirrels are always here.  I've probably forgotten
