We will be meeting at St. Johns UMC off Monroe Rd. ( http://tr.im/cpmgnew... : Google Map )
Meetups:
This meeting is designed to help you get a feel for what we are doing around the area and where you might like to put your participation. We go over the groups last month, and the coming month's schedule, review the assignment (with very mild commentary), work towards having a few quick educational segments, and then we break up for people to meet with other like minded people. During that time you can seek out leaders, SIG (Special Interest Group) facilitators, other camera owners, and talk until you are ready to go, or we have to kick you out.
Intellectual Property
We are very excited to have Jayne Hunter from the law firm McGuireWoods LLP to come speak to the group this month. Ms. Hunter will be speaking to us about copyright as it pertains to photography and intellectual property, as well as how to protect your rights as a photographer and copyright holder. This is a topic that a lot of us have questions about so this will be a fantastic opportunity to learn and further your business knowledge.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate regardless of skill level. Newcomers and novices just jump right in and ask questions. It's a pretty light hearted group, but a tremendous opportunity to learn from some very skilled photographers.
New members in the last 30 days are free to join us, dues supporting members are free, and those who are just joining us to continue the revelry is $5. Feel free to pay ahead or at the door.
Location Details, Addition
Please be aware of location change, check top of page, we will be at St. Johns UMC off Monroe Rd. We will be trialing this location and are still on the hunt for alternatives that we can afford. If you have suggestions please let us know. Please verify and validate your RSVP. If you cannot attend it helps us tremendously to know that. Our space requires setup and if you are not going to be there, or you are going to be there, it helps save us from additional chaos incurred.

Printing Yes/Maybe's for nametags at 5pm, if you are signing up after the fact just checkin with us when you come in and grab one of the blank tags if available.
Hurray!
Good to go. Scott's driven around the North and I'm in the South, while there may be snow there is no accumulation. Temperatures look like we should have a fine meeting and anything dangerous will set in later. If you cannot attend please change your RSVP so we don't expect you. This will be sent out as an email to the Yes/Maybes as well to help get a proper head count.
Ok, it's 4pm, what's the final verdict? Go / No Go
I'll bring the vodka..
It ain't bad. When I was a kid they did not let me ride the bus until it was -30 and the at -40 they would close the schools. This ain't a blizzard yet.
What a neat community we have. From the emails that have been sent to us to the reports here I feel like I know what's going on all over the metro area!
Dennis, thanks for gathering a flock of Photoshop/Image manipulators-- we've been pondering the sub-group creation for a while especially since Casey's deepening involvement. Probably a good time to break out a new forum/SIG.
@Dennis, good idea. We can foment a revolution. To be recognized, I will be the one not wearing a red baseball cap and also I will not have a rose between my teeth.
@George and the rest, there's heavy snow in Elizabeth but none of it is sticking as of now (3:23 p.m.) and Uptown traffic appears normal from the 3rd floor, at least.
Hi, all 18 of us who say they have an interest in Photoshop and perhaps forming a subgroup should talk at this evening's meeting. I will wear a red baseball cap so y'all will recognize me and hopefully we can talk a spell. I look forward to it.

I'm bring the coffee!
We'll have a snow/lock-in. Learn photo principles and techniques while the snow keeps us all from going out. heheh!
Look, everyone just needs to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, food and libations in case we get stuck...wouldn't that be so much fun!!!
it had stopped here in Pineville but just started up with a vengeance again.
Still nothing sticking but it is blasting down, big big flakes
I wouldn't. ;)
Sweet! I'd like to see a picture of that.
Here around Matthew's we've got some massive clumpy snow falling but my outside digital weather thing is reading 38. I'm sure those north or west are getting it pretty good. I think Pat went out and stuck his tongue to a lightpost. ;-)
i live near the church and it's just really wet here. snow is still falling but it's melting just as fast. it's almost stopped coming down. some did stick briefly to the grass but it didn't last long. the roads are just wet.
Borka: Is it sticking to the ground?
It's coming down here in Monroe too, but not sticking too much yet...
yea its a blizzard here in Cornelius!
