Who organized?
Borka and Scott

Ask and ye shall receive. CPMG member Pat Borka has taken the initiative and started a new strobist up on the north side of Charlotte in Davidson. Similar to our centrally located Coffee and Strobes events this will be a "strobist playtime". A great opportunity to get together to learn and work with off camera light.

If you're unfamiliar with what is meant by the term "strobist" then head over to www.strobist.com and check it out. There is a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be explored there.

What to bring: your camera, your lighting gear, a humble attitude and thirst to learn hands on in a group environment.

RSVP's will open on Wednesday, January 27th, at 6pm.

whoa, ok let's give credit where credit's due. the lighting problem wasn't my idea, it was pat's. the challenge was to try light a portrait in a difficult situation (mirrors, shadows, low light, etc) and make it look as natural and as unlit as possible. this was all pat's idea. i just talk the loudest so i think that's why you may have thought that i came up with this. i think the people that took the most shots, pat and brandon, may be a bit delayed in getting them posted.

Actually, my pix were terrible as usual, but I think that some others may have taken some really nice ones. Scott came up with a lighting problem for us to solve and I believe it was accomplished. Some real "special" pictures of Pat should be posted by others...

Please be sure and buy something while there. They are doing us a favor so lets see that they get something out of it.

I had a great time and, as usual, learned so much. This strobist thing is still a little beyond me, but I am determined to master it. It's kind of like math, which isn't my strong point, but still within reach by practicing. Scott provided tons of information and Pat provided tons of fun!
