CPMG member George Holt has arranged for us to meet regularly at the Quail Corners location of the Dilworth Coffee House. We'll be getting together for some after hours strobist activities. This won't be a class per se, but will be a great opportunity to learn about small flash off camera lighting. We will be arriving a bit before the coffee house closes so everyone will be able to order some drinks. After the doors are locked we will have full run of the place to satisfy all our strobing and shooting desires. This is a regular event that we do twice a month.
For anyone who has no clue what is meant by the term strobist, head on over to www.strobist.com and check it out.
What to bring: your camera, your small lighting gear (studio lights aren't recommended), a humble attitude and thirst to learn hands on in a group environment.
This event is free to Pro Members and carries a cost of $3.00 for all other members. Please pay through amazon payments. We would rather not handle cash at the event and we will not have change. If you are a Pro Member please ignore the link that takes you to amazon payments. You should still be able to rsvp yes without paying. This way we don't have to go and refund you and worry about amazon service charges.
I would like to use this C&S to go over basic portrait set-up, work flow for the up coming Help-Portrait event. I would like to have a set-up in which we could produce consistent quality portrait with minimal editing.
“ I love flash! It's amazing how much editing time is saved when the light is right - and that's the kind of shots that come out when attending these events! ”

A pic of a friend of mine, taken by her friend Joseph Rubinstein: http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p318/mizzmamie/myspace...
Just wanted to share since I really like the lighting on this photo.
Wondering if it's anything achievable by small strobes that we could do with the group? Or is this more like soft box light?
