George found out that this event was running longer and it also coincides with the DSBG Monarch butterfly/Something's A Flutter events.
George has volunteered to be out and about this evening and if you haven't had time to talk with him, you should make it a point!
"Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden invites guests to enjoy the evening garden on Thursday nights this summer. The Garden is planning a variety of activities during those hours. Food and beverages will also be available to sample and purchase."
"It's the return of hundreds of butterflies to The Orchid Conservatory. The lives of these remarkable and colorful creatures will be revealed from their unexplainable metamorphosis to the equally mysterious migration of the monarchs."
DSBG Rates: Members free, $10 adults, $9 seniors 60+ and $5 children 4-12
The time of the event is still a little up in the air since I haven't confirmed it with George. Details will firm up soon.
Joseph - Although not a macro lens, I have some extension tubes I just got & planned to use tonight. If your camera works with them (Canon), I could let you try one out tonight.
I plan to arrive about 5:30, I can get four people in at half price.

OdzBodkinz, I shoot a D70 and would appreciate the use of your spare macro lens if it is available. That would be great! I am from out of town and have limited gear with me. Thanks in advance!
“ The location was beautiful. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to arrive until 7:00pm, two hours after it began. But I got to meet a few really nice people and got some great shots. ”
“ It was very cloudy this trip but still was able to get some good shots. There is such a variety of plants and flowers; we were able to shoot many different one than previous shoot. Only saw a few butterfiles in the Atrium but still a Beautiful place! ”
“ It is a fun place to shoot. Because of work I was not there at 5:00 and my wife and I went out on our own. I did talk to one person that had the CPMG lanyard. Great photo opp both out side and in the conservatory. ”
“ I had a great time & was extremely thrilled to get my new off camera strobe working! Thanks so much to Rolf & Jonathan!! Oh what a huge difference little strobes can make... ”

Had fun Strobing in the Orchid room after it got dark.
The weather held and wasn't as muggy as last time.....
Had to work late, couldn't make it. Hope it was fun.

Orchid house will be okay to shoot in regardless of rain...
I'll be there rain or shine.
Is this event still happening in the event of rain?

I'll have a spare macro lens tomorrow night if anyone wants to borrow it. I usually have a 60mm and a 105mm Nikon with me in my bag.
I'm planning to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00p. We can meet at the tables just outside the entrance.
