Charlotte Photography September Meetup
Southside Meetups:
This meeting is designed to help you get a feel for what we are doing around the area and where you might like to put your participation. We go over the groups last month, and the coming month's schedule, review the assignment (with very mild commentary), work towards having a few quick educational segments, and then we break up for people to meet with other like minded people. During that time you can seek out leaders, SIG facilitators, other camera owners, and talk until you are ready to go, or we have to kick you out.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate regardless of skill level. Newcomers and novices just jump right in and ask questions. It's a pretty light hearted group, but a tremendous opportunity to learn from some very skilled photographers.
Pro Members have the opportunity to win a prize for the month, check the thread for details.
New members in the last 30d are free to join us, dues supporting members are free, and those who are just joining us to continue the revelry is $5. Feel free to pay ahead or at the door.

The Well's location near Archdale and Park is not hard to get to. If you have driving concerns post them.
Please verify and validate your RSVP. If you cannot attend it helps us tremendously to know that. Our space requires setup and if you are not going to be there, or you are going to be there, it helps save us from additional chaos incurred.

Administrator“ It was neat to split the group up and we'll probably do this more often to better address the dynamic need of everyone. Janet gave a good overview of PPNC but the questions to her seemed fairly soft pitch. Rich's group was a machine gun of Q&A which was good to see too. Overall I was quite pleased with the evening and I hope everyone found a bit of something they were looking for. ” -

Basic Member“ It was a good first experience with the meetup group. I'm very excited about the possibility of attending one of the "Coffee and Strobes" sessions, although it seems pretty difficult to get into one. It would be great if there were more of them available. ” -

Basic Member“ I thought it was a great meeting overall. My only disappointment was with the "Pro business" session. My impression was that we would be talking about/exchanging ideas about going professional and what that entails - pricing, web presence, etc. That's been a big missing link for me in the Charlotte area - getting in touch w/others that have already gone pro and are willing to talk about what they've done, problems they've faced, etc. I felt like this session was really a huge plug to join that organization rather than nuts and bolts discussion. If you are new to us, bring what you like. If you have camera questions, bring your camera, if you have photo questions bring the photo. Rich can field a lot during that session and when we break for socializing you can ask any group member for insight into your thoughts/questions/process. Can't get much friendlier than that. :D
I have pottery class this night for the next 2 months. I'll still be leading some nature events though. Send me messages if you have ideas.
