Message board notifications?

I have clicked "track discussion" on many threads I'm following and have subscribed to the message boards but only get notification in one bulk email every morning. What am I missing people? Is there a better way to track the discussions or a setting I'm not seeing to get instant notifications?

I think that is the only option. You can subscribe to individual forums i.e. General Discussion Forum, Nature Sig, Lighting Sig... You will be notified of all new topics. If you subscribe to thread/conversation you get a notice when some one replies to the thread. Either way you just get the one bulk notice with "New Post" or "New Discussion" listed.

I haven't been able to figure it out either. Surely there's a way to get notices as they happen. Maybe if we turn off the digest feed?
